Let’s be honest, when we think of search engines, we almost always think of Google.
And for good reason. According to Oberlo, Google is the most visited website in the world, with a share of 92% of the search engine market. That’s huge!
It was so popular that it developed a cult.
This means that Google’s website becomes a verb; “and Google it.” We don’t say “look for it,” we say “Google it.” The search engine is so popular, it has become a word in itself.
But Google isn’t the only search engine out there.
If you want options, we have some for you. From user-friendly search engines to secret kings and gravity-defying search engines.
Of course, the first position will go to Google.
Google started in 1997 and has been dominating the internet ever since.
More than 3.5 billion searches are done on Google every day. You can find the great B2B buyers directory on Google.
These algorithms mean that it is easy to use and connect to other parts of the Google portfolio, such as YouTube, Google Drive, Google Maps, and smartphones and laptops.
Google is so popular that its technology powers other search engines like Ask.com.
Bing
Microsoft products are second only to Google.
Bing may be small compared to Google, but it is growing in popularity. Bing is a result of previous search engines like MSN Search and Windows Live Search.
Launched in 2009, Bing offers the same filters and search options, such as maps, images, places and stories.
However, instead of a white background, Bing’s home page has a beautiful set of search engine optimization images.
Bing processes about 12 billion searches per month, so its algorithm is constantly improving and ensuring you get the answers you need.
Like Google, Bing technology also supports other search engines such as Yahoo!
Baidu
The third greatest invention in the world is unknown to many.
Google is banned in China, so Baidu has grown to dominate China’s search engine market.
Most people in China use this search engine and it is the third most popular search engine in the world even though almost all users are from the same country.
It has a sophisticated intelligent system behind it, and according to Chinese users, it is really easy to use.
It’s China’s answer to Google, but it’s not well known because few people use it outside of China. Even Tradekey.com uses Baidu for its Chinese buyers.
DuckDuckGo
This will be a surprise to many of you reading this — you probably expected Yahoo to be here.
DuckDuckGo doesn’t have as many users as other sites, but it makes this list as one of the best search engines for privacy. So it’s my number 4.
DuckDuckGo is so secretive that it’s not even known how many people use it regularly.
Search engines do not store or share data, and do not allow websites to access your data or track your online activity. DuckDuckGo doesn’t keep any records of your search history and claims to track Google on 75% of the top websites.
They say that incognito mode deletes information from your computer, but Google can still store it.
The finder is completely private and can be added as an extension to your browser, so it’s easier to access and use than in incognito mode.
If you are worried about big companies tracking you or learning about you from your internet history, DuckDuckGo is the best search engine for you.
Ecosia
If you want to go green, Ecosia is one of the best search engines out there.
This is a private search engine that uses fresh energy to power its servers. It works really well, it’s actually 200% renewable, which means it actually removes carbon dioxide from the air.
Not only does it use renewable energy, but every research in Ecosia plants trees.
At the time of writing, Ecosia has planted 116,680,553 trees. Click the link to see how many they have hit so far.
Ecosia not only plants trees everywhere, but it also plants them in environments where more trees are needed. Now, this means Burkina Faso.
It publishes its income every month, so you can see exactly what they are doing and where.
Eco-friendly, Ecosia is easy to use, simple, and fast.
It can be installed as a browser extension to be your default search engine. Also, unlike Google, it does not store your data for more than a week.
